Stress is a part and parcel of one’s life. In other words, any bodily or mental tension that is caused by emotional, mental, or physical factors can lead to stress. Stress to an extent can motivate you to try harder, and achieve your goals. But if not channelled and managed the right way, stress can cause major havoc in your life.

In medical terms, stress is the body’s way of reacting to a sudden change that requires an adjustment or a response. It is experienced from your thoughts, your body and even the environment surrounding you. Most people are under the notion, that it is only the negative changes that lead to a stressed life. The fact is that a positive change can also lead to stress. For example, the birth of a child, or a hefty promotion can also be a few reasons for stress. Now that we have a fair idea of what stress is, let’s move on to the causes of stress. As long as stress is positive, there is no health scare. However, the moment stress begins to move in a negative direction, it starts to affect the body. When a person faces challenges continuously and is unable to combat stressful situations, the body’s inbuilt stress response begins to cause changes physiologically.
